AZ 40 is manufactured by fusing selected grades of high purity alumina and Zirconia above 2200ºC, followed by controlled cooling and crushing process. It is a very tough and hard abrasive material useful in heavy duty grinding of virtually all types of metals and some types of wood. It has the unique advantages of aggressive cutting, long durability and uniform wear. It is used in cutting and grinding wheels especially those requiring aggressive material removal like rail grinding as well as for the steel industry belts, fiber discs and flap discs.
